StarGazers

StarGazers is a collaborative student film that I co-led as the Producer and Lead Animator, managing a team of 7 people! StarGazers follows the story of two best friends on a journey across the galaxy as a testament to their friendship.

StarGazers is a 2D animated short film. After their “parental units” drop them off for a playdate, alien best friends Smin and Smudge take their kiddy ships to take a tour of their galaxy. This project was made possible by the hard work of our 7-person team, and was able to achieve our goal of making a cute short animated film!

Throughout this project, I took on the role of one of the two leaders as Producer. I managed, organized, dictated, and kept spirits high for our team. I also took on additional roles such as Concept Artist and Lead Animator, being in charge of all key animation, doing in-between, clean-up, and color.

Things I did

For this project, I co-led the team as the Producer, and took on other roles such as Lead animator and concept artist.

As a Producer, I co-led the team alongside our Art Director, Arcadia Doughty, where I managed, coordinated, and kept spirits up! I created and organized our Google Drive and regulated our uploading system, created scheduling and a shot list, created and managed our team server, made a list of standards for others to reference and follow, designated tasks and deadlines among the team, and did regular one-on-one check-ins with the team to make sure morale was up!

As Lead Animator, my role was to manage all of the animation and make sure the art and animation style looked consistent throughout the film. I took on all of the key animation to pass off to the in-betweeners. I also did in-between animation, clean-up, and color.
